Roles / Work experience

January 2010 – Present: Social Media Consultant / Data Analyst at NixonMcInnes. Lead on all client social data analysis projects and reporting. Producer on technical social media ‘design and build’ projects. Account management for RSPCA. Other clients include HSBC, O2, TUI, WWF, Terrence Higgins Trust, First Group. Sales, pitching, scoping and costing projects. Project management.

Account management, sales, consultancy:

  • identify, scope and sell-in opportunities with existing and new clients
  • cost and write proposals for data analysis / social media monitoring projects
  • end-to-end delivery of social media consultancy

Data analysis:

  • create measurement frameworks defining social media KPIs against objectives
  • build social media monitoring reports – analyse and segment data and identify key insights for presentation back to the client
  • company ‘expert’ on social media monitoring tools and platform specific tools
  • package data analysis offerings into client-friendly formats for creds, the website, and the sales team
  • ensure the sales team understand our data analysis product offerings
  • create frameworks and templates for delivery of data analysis work for other data analysts to deliver
  • build PR-able research and analytics to support marketing efforts
  • support new business development through research and insights into brands and sectors we’re pitching for

Digital production:

  • project manage design and build projects
  • information architecture / user experience design / wireframe creation

  • interpret Google Analytics data and make recommendations for improvements to website usability to achieve client objectives

November 2009 – January 2010: Head of Social Media at The Good Agency. Responsible for all social media project strategy and implementation, digital production, information architecture, digital project management, social media consultancy, project evaluation and measurement. Clients included Mind, Scope, Teachers TV, RSPCA, Compassion in World Farming and NSPCC.

July 2008 – November 2009: Digital / Social Media Project Manager at Twentyfirst, part of The Good Agency. Project management of social media and online community projects. Conference speaking. Social media strategy, implementation and analysis. Information architecture. Management and training of junior social media managers and training of clients.

April 2007 – July 2008: Digital Producer on the Web Team at the University of Sussex. Producing the Student Personal Learning And Social Homepages project, in addition to general web maintenance (CSS/HTML etc.). Designing user interfaces using Flash. Designer and developer for University of Sussex campus in Second Life.

May 2007: Reporter for BBC Southern Counties. Reviewing events at Brighton Festival, Brighton Fringe Festival and The Great Escape Festival. Reviews published on the BBC website.

September 2006 – April 2007: Graduate Intern on the Web Team at the University of Sussex. Daily website updates; help desk assistance; general web publishing; project planning; project research: specifically regarding online communities.

January – March 2007: Researcher / Producer for BBC Southern Counties – 48 Hours online television project. Independently researched, filmed and produced a number of short films, which are featured on the BBC website and radio.
